Tony noms announced
4 years agoTony nominations were announced this morning. It’s officially my favorite time of year!
I’m happy to say that I’ve seen a majority of the nominated shows: In The Heights (which I LOVED) led the way with 13 noms, Sunday in the Park with George, Gypsy (which I saw last year at City Center but still count) and South Pacific were each nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, and The 39 Steps received nominations for Best Direction and Scenic Design (the design really is amazing).
Xanadu got a few noms as well, and now I strangely want to see it. I’m sad that Cheyenne Jackson didn’t receive the Best Actor in a Musical nom.
It’s not strange to want to see Xanadu. It’s really a very fun show - they give you glowsticks when you walk in!
Also, Tony season is my favorite time of year too! GOD, I love Tony season! It also doesn’t hurt that this is the second year running that I’m working on a show with more than 10 noms! I am a braggart.
