She & Him - will
It’s funny how these things come together. When I think of actress Zooey Dreschanel I picture her in Elf opposite Will Ferrell. She had a scene singing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” which she sang beautifully with her unique voice. Well it looks like M. Ward took notice.
“During the recording of Richard and Linda Thompson cover for a movie soundtrack. They hit it off. She mentioned she wrote and recorded songs in her bedroom. He said he wanted to hear the songs. She was shy about letting anyone listen, but eventually she sent them to him. He really liked them. She was happy that he was impressed. they decided to work on some material together and see where things go.”The sound seems to harkin back to something not seen in music right now. The sultry voice of Zooey and Dusty Springfield-esq guitar work of M. Ward blend so well. Do yourself a favor and check out the rest of the album.
Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? - She & Him
I’m digging this, and I have to be honest, I don’t usually enjoy her (as an actress). Too aloof. But this is nice. I’ll check out the rest of the album. Thanks!
