Formspringa

Finally, some worthy FormSpring questions. Thank you to the contributors, you know who you are ;-)

Tell of your first love

Alright, I’ll treat demands as questions. My first love…hmmm…I would have to say the first time I was in love - or at least thought I was in love (and at the time, what’s the difference, really) was in high-school. I’d “dated” (hooked up) with one guy before that, immediately after coming out in high school, during sophomore year. I guess I had an interesting coming out, in the sense that I knew I was gay before I’d physically “proved it.”

Anyway, I digress. The guy went to another school and we met at some mutual friends’ party. We immediately flocked to each other, though he was “straight.” We spent the night talking and finally separated ourselves from the rest of the party. We sat on a concrete retaining wall, overlooking this beautiful wooded canyon (in the Santa Cruz Mountains, if that means anything to you). The night became the next morning. At dawn we found that we’d inched closer and closer, so that arms and legs were pressed together. We cuddled close to keep warm and kissed. The rest was history - a pretty light history, I guess. We kept dating, and while he was “my boyfriend” at my house (where my family and friends knew I was gay), when we were at his house, I was “a friend.”

I ended up leaving California to go to school near Chicago, and we tried to keep up long distance, at least communicating…but you know college: I was off to sew my wild oats - the boy: he started dating girls again and joined the military - go figure! So there you have it, the condensed version.

Hey you, I miss you. But I’m not sure if its because you haven’t been posting much lately, or we’re never on at the same time.

Once again, not a question, but very sweet nonetheless. Being anonymous, I don’t know who You are, but I’m sure I miss you too…

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, California. It’s about an hour south of San Francisco, as the crow flies. I loooooovvvvvveee going home - my parents live in the middle of a Redwood forest, in the mountains, on a vineyard that my Dad and his friends built by hand. And there’s a hot tub. Idyllic.

Thanks for the questions and non questions.

Keep ‘em comin’
